Sports Injury Treatment

Sports physiotherapy needs to be very specific and detailed and in line with the athletes’ goals to return to his/her sport in order to perform at their optimal level and prevent recurrence. Being from a sporty background I love to promote injury prevention principles, educate and provide detailed rehabilitation to get athletes back to their best as soon as possible.

Treatment approaches include:

EXERCISE THERAPY AND PILATES

Each patient receives a specifically designed exercise program to promote a return to full function. Whatever your individual requirements are I aim to cater for general everyday activity needs to elite sporting requirements. Your program will comprise exercises to correct postural problems, improve strength, co- ordination and flexibility.

I have recently begun using the Physitrack exercise prescription system which allows for greater engagement of clients by viewing videos of their exercises on a mobile phone app or via email.

I also incorporate clinical pilates into many patients exercise programs. This system offers great spinal mobility and core exercises for good posture and spinal strength and is very useful for those recovering particularly from back injury or the ante-natal/post-natal patient population.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a clinical approach based on skilled “hands on” therapy to decrease pain and improve the mobility of joints, soft tissues and nerves. ... Physiotherapists will usually combine manual therapy with exercise prescription and rehabilitation which will lead to a faster recovery of your function.

Pain Management

At Heal and Fit for All, we treat many pain conditions such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, shoulder and knee pain.

Physiotherapists play an important role in the management of acute and chronic pain. After a thorough assessment, we will make a treatment plan together with you to help reduce pain and address the roots of your symptoms to prevent reoccurrence.

Physiotherapy treatment to relieve your pain may include soft tissues massage and stretching to relieve tension and spasm, joint mobilizations, acupuncture, electrotherapy, corrective exercise, posture awareness, and advice on how to overcome pain in your daily activities. We will also help you to understand the cause of your pain.

Through our years of experience and evidence-based practice we believe that a combination of manual treatment and muscle re-education is the most effective treatment.

The sooner you see one of our physiotherapists the sooner we can start to help you.

Musculoskeletal

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy involves proper treatments of disorders, which will affect how you move or how your joints and muscles work together. Whether it is in your ankles, feet, legs, hands, shoulders, or arms, an injury will make it difficult or painful to move. It will have a big impact on your life. Physiotherapy for musculoskeletal disorders helps in managing movement disorders.

Physiotherapist will have a direct chat with you, observe your movement and use hands-on assessment for evaluating your issues. They will take enough time to explain the diagnosis to the individual patient and develop a proper treatment plan.

Orthopedic Physiotherapy

Orthopedic Rehabilitation is a Therapeutic approach to recovery to correct musculoskeletal limitations and relieve pain caused by trauma, illness, or surgery. Interventions by Physical, Occupational, and Recreational therapists are included in Orthopedic Rehabilitation, which is supervised and guided by a physician. In addition, Orthopedic Rehabilitation includes exercise techniques, training programs, counseling, and Environmental modifications beneficial in the Rehabilitation process.

The Fellowship in Orthopedics Rehabilitation course provides students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to organize, manage and deliver an Orthopedics Rehabilitation program within a hospital/community setting.

Rehabilitation is critical for restoring a patient’s activity, strength, and motion following an injury or surgery.

This course prepares students to work in the field of orthopedic injuries and to treat patients who have deficiencies and weaknesses that can be eliminated or mitigated with targeted workouts.

This course is aimed at MBBS graduates, GPs, Physiotherapists/ Physiotherapy interns.

A trained physician can assess, diagnose, plan, and carry out therapeutic and rehabilitative programs to improve or restore human motor functions, maximize movement ability, relieve pain syndromes, and treat or prevent physical challenges caused by injuries, diseases, and other impairments.
